I've been reading Jalopnik and Oppo for awhile now and since it's given me many hours of non-work enjoyment at work, I would like to contribute. I'm also not in school so you can look forward to a negligible increase in homework related rants, your welcome.

I live in Phoenix and am an engineer.

Now for cars!

My daily driver is a 2005 Mazda RX-8 with about 68k and the 6-speed manual trans. I pretty much love this car for the street and have done most of the good modifications ( with the exception of the new BHR header).

It's also crazy practical...

My project car is a 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL with about 78k original miles and 5 speed manual trans. The GSL stands for...something clever..it basically means you get 4 wheel disc brakes and a Torsen limited slip differential while keeping the 12A carb'd. My plans for this are still a bit undecided, but I could see this thing overstearing through the desert AKA RALLYCROSS!

Kinja'd!!!

Last but not least my 1993 Mazda RX-7 Touring in Montego Blue with about 44k original miles and a 5 speed trans. I purchased this in June from the original owner and since then have done quite a bit. I did a full tune up on the car and have done a ton of reliability and cooling stuff, the biggest being new Fluidyne radiator and Racing Beat silicone hoses. It's now in the process of getting a Sakebomb Garage dual 25-row oil cooler, will post more on this later. Oh, and the Ohlin DFV coilovers come tomorrow :D.

Welcome! Your Mazdas are lovely, especially your FD. You're going to love the Ohlins DFV coilovers; I just installed a set on my 2002 Miata earlier this year. I also have a 1988 Mazda 323 GTX. Keep us updated on your rotaries!

Nice! I noticed they were a bit cheaper for the Miata, which in turn was almost 1k less than for the FRS/BRZ so it could have been worse. For the FD the spring rates are 11k front/rear but they still seem to be good on the street.
